Day 1
- Overview of the course content
- Introduction to our on site massage routine
- How to set up massage chair & seat your client comfortably.
- How to use correct posture & body weight to apply techniques without feeling tired.
- Introduction to Shiatsu massage & the meridians
- Use of hands, thumbs and forearms to apply pressure & stretches.
- Learn Japanese massage techniques on the back, arms, hands, neck & head
- Learn in detail a complete 20 minute chair massage Sequence
Day 2
- Review & fine tune the 20 minute chair massage sequence.
- Identifying any of the techniques, which your uncertain about.
- Adapting the 20 minute routine to create longer or shorter treatments,
- Learn Shiatsu massage techniques for stretching and joint mobilisation.
- Contra-indications
- Learn where the most effective pressure points are & what they do.
- Feedback, guidance and support on all techniques.
- Putting it all together and practising a 20 minute backrub
By the end of day 2 you will be able to complete a 10, 20 or 30 minute seated acupressure massage:
Assessment for Diploma
40 treatments to be completed by assessment date.The assessment will consist of a demonstration of the 20 minute chair massage on the tutor and a short verbal test on contra-indications and use of pressure points.
You'll have the opportunity to get excellent feedback from the tutor on any areas of your massage, which may benefit from improvement.
This date is flexible and can be arranged with a tutor when all 40 treatment records have been completed.
The On- site chair massage course will be largely practical with some theory.
Course Fees
The cost for the 2 day course is £167 + £30 assessment fee and there are no hidden extras.
