Shen Foundation Aspirations
Guided by its constitution, the shen Foundation will be dedicated to an interdisciplinary knowledge base in the following areas of teaching, training and research.
1. Three related traditions drawing on Daoist philosophy:
(a) Qigong – a system of medical healing techniques and meditative studies originating as a concept of ‘internal alchemy’.
(b) Yi Jing (I Ching) – a traditional form of Chinese divination.
(c) Feng Shui – techniques for harmonising physical environments.
2. Classical Chinese Medicine – with special consideration of benefits for daily health care.
3. Multidisciplinary Energy Work – with special consideration of relating individual needs to energy flows.
4. Taiji (Tai Chi) and Martial Arts.
5. Ancient Music Therapies – drawing on eastern and western traditions.
6. Cha Dao – special Chinese teas, tea-making and their healing qualities.
7. Buddhist, Daoist and Confucian Meditation Techniques.
8. Ancient Chinese Bone Oracle Teachings.
9. Practical sustainable living and wise and effective environmental management.
10. Dietary aspects of organic food qualities.
11. Energy conservation and protection of natural fuel resources.
12. Developing computer software packages and other teaching aids to assist in widening knowledge about the foregoing areas.
